Ingredients

1 cup creamy peanut butter

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup milk chocolate chips

1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

1/2 teaspoon sea salt (for sprinkling)

1/4 cup heart-shaped sprinkles (for decoration)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the creamy peanut butter and softened butter. Beat together with an electric mixer until creamy and well blended.

Add in the brown sugar and granulated sugar. Continue to mix until the sugars are fully incorporated.

Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture into the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Fold in the milk chocolate chips and chopped walnuts if using.

Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking pan, smoothing it to the edges.

Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the cookie bars to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before lifting out using the parchment overhang to cool completely on a wire rack.

Once cooled, cut into squares and sprinkle the tops with sea salt and heart-shaped sprinkles for a festive touch.
