Ingredients

2 racks baby back ribs

1 tablespoon olive oil

2 teaspoons smoked paprika

2 teaspoons garlic powder

2 teaspoons onion powder

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1 teaspoon kosher salt

1 cup BBQ sauce (store-bought or homemade)

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

1 tablespoon honey

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) for slow-cooking the ribs for that tender texture.

Prepare the Ribs: Remove the membrane from the back of the baby back ribs (a thin, silver skin) for better flavor absorption. Pat the ribs dry with paper towels.

Make the Spice Rub: In a small bowl, mix together the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, cayenne pepper (if using), brown sugar, and kosher salt.

Season the Ribs: Rub the olive oil over the ribs, then generously apply the spice rub all over the ribs, ensuring they are fully coated.

Wrap and Bake: Wrap the seasoned ribs tightly in aluminum foil, placing them on a baking sheet for support. Bake in the preheated oven for about 2.5 to 3 hours, until the meat is tender and pulling away from the bone.

Prepare the Glaze: While the ribs are baking, mix the BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, and honey in a small bowl. This will be your glaze.

Glaze and Finish: After the ribs have baked, carefully remove them from the oven. Unwrap the foil (watch out for steam!) and brush a generous layer of the BBQ glaze over the ribs.

Broil for Caramelization: Return the glazed ribs to the oven (uncovered) and broil on high for about 5-10 minutes, or until the glaze is bubbly and caramelized. Keep a close eye to avoid burning.

Serve: Remove from the oven and let the ribs rest for 5-10 minutes. Cut between the bones and serve with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
