Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup cream cheese, softened

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

2 teaspoons garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)

1/2 teaspoon salt

16 mozzarella sticks

1 cup flour, for dredging

1 cup buttermilk

2 cups panko breadcrumbs

Oil for frying

Nashville hot chicken seasoning (store-bought or homemade) for finishing

Instructions

Prepare the Beef Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, cream cheese, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and salt. Mix until well incorporated.

Wrap the Mozzarella Sticks: Take a mozzarella stick and mold a portion of the beef mixture around it, ensuring it's fully covered. Repeat with all mozzarella sticks. You should have 16 beef-wrapped mozzarella sticks ready for frying.

Dredging Station: Set up a dredging station with three shallow bowls. Place the flour in one, the buttermilk in the second, and the panko breadcrumbs in the third.

Dredge the Mozzarella Sticks: Dip each beef-wrapped mozzarella stick into the flour, shaking off any excess. Then, dip into buttermilk, allowing the excess to drip off, and finally coat with panko breadcrumbs, pressing lightly to adhere.

Chill: Lay the coated mozzarella sticks on a baking sheet and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. This helps the coating stick better during frying.

Fry the Sticks: In a deep fryer or heavy pot, heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry the mozzarella sticks in batches for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown. Make sure to not overcrowd the pot.

Drain: Once cooked, remove the sticks and drain on paper towels. While they are still hot, sprinkle the Nashville hot seasoning over them for that extra spicy kick.

Serve: Serve the Nashville Hot Beef Wrapped Mozzarella Sticks immediately with a side of ranch or blue cheese dressing for dipping.
