Ingredients

1 pre-made pie crust or homemade pastry crust

8 large eggs

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup cooked and crumbled spicy sausage

1 cup diced cooked potatoes (or hash browns)

1/2 cup diced green onions

1/2 cup diced bell peppers (preferably red or green)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Optional: Hot sauce for serving

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare the Crust: If using a homemade pastry crust, roll out the dough and line a 9-inch pie pan. Dock the bottom with a fork to prevent bubbling. Pre-bake for about 10 minutes until lightly golden. Set aside.

Cook the Sausage: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the crumbled spicy sausage until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess fat and set aside to cool slightly.

Prepare the Filling: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.

Add Ingredients: Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, cooked sausage, diced potatoes, green onions, and bell peppers until evenly distributed.

Fill the Crust: Pour the egg mixture into the pre-baked pie crust, spreading it evenly.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes or until the quiche is set in the center and golden brown on top. A toothpick inserted into the center should come out clean.

Cool and Serve: Allow the quiche to cool for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with a dash of hot sauce if desired.
