Prepare the base: Start by layering the ingredients in each mason jar. Begin with the halved cherry tomatoes to create a colorful bottom layer.
Add mozzarella: Next, add the halved mozzarella balls on top of the tomatoes for a creamy layer.
Layer the basil: Gently add a handful of fresh basil leaves atop the mozzarella. You can tuck the leaves in for a visually pleasing look.
Season the layers: Drizzle a tablespoon of balsamic glaze over the basil, and add a tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and garlic powder if desired.
Repeat layers (optional): If you have room in the jars, you can repeat the tomato, mozzarella, and basil layers until you reach the top, seasoning each layer accordingly.
Seal the jars: Once all the ingredients are in the jars, securely seal each jar with a lid. Ensure they are stored in the fridge until ready to eat.
Serve: When you’re ready to enjoy, simply shake the jar to mix the contents, or pour the salad out into a bowl. Enjoy it as a refreshing lunch or a side dish!
