4 ripe peaches, peeled and diced

1 cup granulated sugar, divided

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup whole milk

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup mini chocolate chips (or fruit preserves for a fruity twist)

Instructions
 

In a medium bowl, combine the diced peaches with 1/4 cup of granulated sugar. Mash the peaches lightly with a fork to release their juices and let them sit for about 30 minutes.

    In another bowl, whisk together the remaining 3/4 cup of sugar, heavy cream, whole milk, vanilla extract, lemon juice, and salt until the sugar is dissolved.

      Once the peaches have marinated, fold them into the cream mixture, ensuring they are evenly distributed.

        Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency (usually about 20-25 minutes).

          Transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.
