Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 tablespoon olive oil

¾ cup warm water

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried basil

1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

Fresh herbs for garnish (parsley or cilantro)

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, baking powder, dried oregano, dried basil, and garlic powder. Whisk until well blended.

Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and add the olive oil and warm water. Stir with a wooden spoon or your hands until the mixture begins to come together.

Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5-7 minutes, until it becomes smooth and elastic.

Divide the dough into 6 equal portions. Shape each portion into a ball and let them rest under a damp cloth for 15-20 minutes.

Roll out each dough ball into a thin circle, about ¼ inch thick. If desired, sprinkle extra herbs on top before rolling for added flavor.

Preheat a non-stick skillet or cast-iron pan over medium-high heat.

Cook each flatbread for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until puffed and golden brown. Repeat with the remaining dough.

Once cooked, remove from the heat and place flatbreads on a wire rack to cool slightly.

Garnish with fresh herbs before serving. Enjoy with dips, spreads, or as a wrap!
