Ingredients

1 lb ground beef (80/20)

1 large onion, thinly sliced

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 tablespoon butter

1 teaspoon thyme (fresh or dried)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

Salt and pepper, to taste

8 slider buns (preferably brioche)

1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese (or Swiss cheese)

1/4 cup beef broth

Worcestershire sauce, to taste

Optional: fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

Cook the Onions: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and butter over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and season with salt and pepper. Cook until the onions are caramelized, about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add thyme and garlic powder in the last few minutes of cooking for added flavor.

Prepare the Beef: While the onions are cooking, in a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with salt, pepper, and a dash of Worcestershire sauce. Form the beef into small patties that are slightly larger than the slider buns.

Cook the Sliders: In another skillet or grill, cook the beef patties over medium-high heat for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness. In the last minute of cooking, spoon a bit of beef broth over each patty and top with shredded Gruyère cheese. Cover the skillet to melt the cheese.

Assemble the Sliders: Slice the slider buns in half and lightly toast them if desired. On the bottom half of each bun, place a beef patty with melted cheese and a generous spoonful of caramelized onions. Top with the other half of the bun.

Serve: For an extra touch, garnish with fresh parsley if using. Serve the sliders warm and enjoy them at your party!
