Ingredients

1 lb white fish fillets (cod, tilapia, or mahi-mahi)

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 tsp paprika

1 tsp cumin

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

1/2 cup buttermilk

8 small corn tortillas

1 cup shredded cabbage

1/2 cup diced tomatoes

1 avocado, sliced

Fresh cilantro, for garnish

Lime wedges, for serving

Hot sauce, optional

Instructions

Prepare the Fish: Rinse the fish fillets under cold water and pat dry. Cut into strips.

Make the Batter: In a bowl, mix the flour, paprika, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Gradually whisk in the buttermilk until smooth.

Coat the Fish: Dip each fish strip into the batter, ensuring it's fully coated, then place on a plate.

Heat the Oil: In a large skillet, heat about 1/4 inch of oil over medium-high heat.

Fry the Fish: Once the oil is hot, add the battered fish strips in batches. Fry for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and place on a paper towel lined plate to absorb excess oil.

Warm Tortillas: In a separate skillet, warm the corn tortillas over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side until pliable.

Assemble Tacos: Place shredded cabbage on each tortilla, then top with fried fish, diced tomatoes, and avocado slices.

Garnish: Sprinkle with fresh cilantro and serve with lime wedges and hot sauce on the side.
